About Restylane

Restylane adds volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds). Restylane can also add fullness and definition to lips in patients over 21 years, providing natural-looking and lasting results with just one treatment. Restylane works immediately by adding volume to smooth away wrinkles. A clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid, Restylane is specifically formulated to act like your body’s own hyaluronic acid. So, you can use Restylane to visibly reduce moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, and add fullness to your lips.

The hyaluronic acid in all HA fillers is identical to the hyaluronic acid that you already possess in abundance in your skin. As such, they are biocompatible and break down completely over time into sugars that are naturally eliminated. They last from 6 to 18 months in your skin, depending upn concentration, the amount of crosslinking, and the location in which they are injected. They seem to last longer in areas of less mobility of the surrounding musculature, such as under the eye.

Restylane Lyft is a newer form of Restylane that has a higher “G-prime.” It is able to create more lifting of the skin in areas such as the cheeks or deeper furrows where a more robust filler is appropriate.

Restylane Kysse is a lip filler that adds volume and structure and smooths the lip and the lines above the lip, and enhances lip color, with results that last for up to one year. Designed specifically for the movement of lips, Restylane Kysse is made with XpresHAn Technology’s innovative cross-linking flexible gel for precise, natural-looking results at rest and with expression.

Dr. Clark is skilled at creating a very natural result, often using photographs of you from a slightly younger age to better understand your facial structure and unique characteristics. Many different areas of the face, as well as the hands, can be treated, depending upon where you have lost volume. Each treatment is highly individualized to ensure that you will leave the office feeling that you have attained a more revitalized appearance while retaining a completely natural look.

Dr. Clark is adept at the new and advanced use of cannulas, which are blunt-tipped, rather than sharp needles, to minimize discomfort and bruising, where ever possible. She will counsel you on what to avoid and the use of medicated products to minimize the possibility of bruising. With these measures, bruising is not common or severe. She will provide laser treatments free of charge should you happen to develop a bruise, to hasten its resolution. She can also give you tips on how to cover bruising with makeup using specific yellow or green camouflage tints.

Since lidocaine can be mixed with Restylane prior to injection, discomfort is minimal, but Dr. Clark will work with you if you are particularly sensitive. Topical anesthetics, the use of ice and vibration, and even nerve blocks can be helpful in such cases.
