Welcome to Ultherapy: the gold-standard in safe, non-surgical high-intensity focused ultrasound treatment to fight the effects of time and gravity on your skin.
About Ultherapy
Ultherapy requires no incisions or downtime. Instead, it works safely and effectively using only ultrasound to fight signs of aging. It uses your body’s natural responses to lift skin and create a rejuvenated appearance overall. Whether you want to improve skin around your facial area, neck, chest, arms, abdomen, or thighs, this treatment can smooth lines and wrinkles gently and safely.
What Is Unique About Ultherapy?
Only one non-invasive treatment to lift skin has FDA clearance, and that is Ultherapy. This cosmetic treatment uses ultrasonic imaging, allowing us to see the targeted tissues during your session. This imaging makes it possible to ensure energy is deposited where you need it most. Ultherapy is better than ever before with the addition of the new Ultherapy Décolletage Treatment.
Can Ultherapy Replace a Facelift?
Both Ultherapy and surgical procedures address the same facial tissues. The difference is that this treatment uses a gentle method instead of relying on incisions or invasive techniques. Instead, it creates many tiny tissue coagulation points. Your body naturally reacts to this by rejuvenating itself through:
- Contracting and tightening
- Laying down new collagen and elastin fibers
- Generating new proteins
Together, these effects can tighten and lift your skin. However, the results do differ from a facelift in that they are gentler and rely on your natural body structures. Also, a facelift stretches your skin and facial features to the sides of your face. In contrast, ultrasonic energy tightens your skin in all vectors, providing a more natural lift in all directions. For this reason, Ultherapy proves an exceptionally good alternative for patients who want to avoid the risks of surgery. Or you can even extend the effects of a prior surgery.
How Does Ultherapy Differ from Laser Treatments?
The core difference is that this treatment uses sound energy instead of light or radiofrequency energy. Sound can uniquely bypass the surface of the skin to create benefits deeper in your tissues. While laser treatments also work to boost collagen, they cannot reach as deeply as sound waves. While they can provide effective results on the surface, they cannot go much further than those upper tissues. Additionally, laser treatments are not yet FDA-cleared to lift skin. The result with ultrasound is a treatment that can create a clinically significant lift in 4-12 months after your treatment.
However, the two treatments can deliver enhanced results when combined together. Ultherapy can help with deeper tissues, and lasers can improve surface results.
How Does Ultherapy Stimulate Creation of Collagen?
How does sound help your body regenerate? By depositing ultrasound energy deep beneath the skin, your body naturally responds. This stimulation jump-starts a natural process by which your body produces all manner of proteins and fibers to rejuvenate your tissues. No creams, no fillers, and no toxins are involved in this treatment. Instead, it works with just sound and your own collagen-building processes. That means you can expect noticeable but natural-looking results.
How Long Does an Ultherapy Treatment Take?
Treatment duration can depend on the area treated and your unique needs. However, each treatment is far shorter than any surgical procedure. For face and neck treatment, your session can take about 60-90 minutes as we work with more precision. A chest treatment is actually shorter, lasting only about 30 minutes.
Will I Need to Take Time Off?
None! This treatment requires no downtime. Instead, you can get right back to your life as soon as your treatment is over. No interruptions, only results.
What Does the Ultherapy Feel Like?
In general, most patients tolerate the treatment rather well. You can expect some sensation at the moments when ultrasound energy is being delivered. However, you may be given oral medication to increase comfort it needed.
When Can I See Results and How Long Do They Last?
This treatment delivers noticeable results, but it takes time for them to build up. You should see some effects initially. However, your full results can take between 4-12 months to appear completely. As your body responds to the sound energy, it will continue to produce new collagen. Patients tend to benefit from touch-up treatments to maintain their results and continue to fight aging. Please discuss with Dr. Clark supplements and topicals that can augment your results.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
Most patients only need one treatment. However, your unique treatment plan can vary depending on:
- Your degree of skin laxity
- The biological response to ultrasound energy
- Your individual collagen-building process
Some patients benefit from additional treatments. Future touch-up treatments can help patients keep pace with the body’s natural aging process.
Are There Any Side Effects WithUltherapy?
Since this treatment is non-invasive, you do not need to worry about significant side effects. You may have some flushed redness, but that goes away within a few hours. You might also have some swelling or tingling, but these also disappear quickly. A small portion of patients might see some bruising or numbness, but again these are temporary.
Is Ultherapy Safe?
The FDA-cleared Ultherapy procedure has been used safely in over 350,000 (and counting!) treatments worldwide. Likewise, ultrasound energy has been used safely in the medical field for more than 50 years. In addition, every Ultherapy practitioner receives extensive procedural training, including Dr. Clark.
How Much Does Ultherapy Cost?
The cost of Ultherapy can range, depending upon the area being treated and number of session. To obtain a quote, please speak with Dr. Clark’s Medical Assistant or Practice Manager.

- A lowered eyebrow line
- Loose skin on the neck
- Sagging under the chin
- Lines or wrinkles on the chest, arms, abdomen, and thighs
